Technology fails.

It would seem that I am hated by instant messengers. I downloaded the update for Windows Live and have encountered the exact same problem that I had with the last update, only I haven't been able to fix this one in the same way. I tried another IM called Trillan. It worked for a while and then randomly stopped working and said that everyone was unavailable. I also tried another one a friend sent me and this one isn't working either.

What is wrong with my computer?
